Sorry...

I've been a bad, bad blogger! This is a crazy time of year for me. Luckily, this is the last weekend before Spring Show. I had to go to my Alma Mater yesterday and help fix the tap dance I taught them a month ago, I am going to church this morning, then I will go to the school and start on the dance I have to teach next week, then I have alumni practice/dress rehearsal on the stage. I will probably be at the school one or two nights this coming week then I found out that the alumni dance is at the very end of the show, so Thursday and Friday I will be at the school until 9p or later. To top it all off, I have to be at the school next Saturday at 8am so I can teach a dance to 50 years of past drill team members. So, do you know what that means...I will be at a high school from 8am - 9ish pm on Saturday. THANK GOD THIS IS THE LAST YEAR I WILL BE DOING THIS!!!

Sorry this was not a very interesting post, this was more of a rant on my part. I promise, after the show I will try to get back to my old self. You never know, maybe something will happen that will be pure blogging entertainment.

Until next time...

Welcome Back!

I have to say welcome back to my good friend, who you all knew as Hoochie. I'm not sure if she wants her name out ther since she simply goes by D.G. on her blog. She started an all new one and I think it's even better than the first one she had. She is the one that inspired me to start "blogging." So, go check out her blog, Dragons & Dandelions, you won't be disappointed!

Until next time...

WTF???

I found this article today and the only thing I could think was "What the Fxxx!!!

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- A couple arguing about which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join caused a public disturbance that resulted in the father's arrest, Commerce City police said Thursday, reported KMGH-TV in Denver.

On Saturday, Joseph Manzanares stormed into a video rental store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays and even a computer, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval said. After he ran out of the store, police were called and the 19-year-old was arrested at his home.

His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, told authorities she is a member of the Crips, police said. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, the woman told police.

"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim,'" Sandoval said. Manzanares was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, and domestic violence. He was transported to the Adams County Detention Facility. On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay $835 in court costs, according to the
Denver Post. The misdemeanor harassment charge was dropped.

Why do these two have a child? I would think you would discuss your child's gang preference before actually deciding to try to procreate. What the hell is wrong with people? And you know what, this probably isn't the first couple to argue over this. What kills me is that the reporter actually used the words "raised" and "upbringing." I'm sorry, my upbringing did not include which organized crime family will you be affiliated with. It's all too West Side Story for me, all that's missing is a kick, ball change, snap, snap.

Until next time...

The weekend is already upon us...

and I'm just now posting about last weekend. I suck. But, before I tell you about the awesome Saturday I had last weekend, you must first click play on the video below. (I don't know how to add music, so the video is only for music purposes.)

Last year, during the summer of new things, Sublime Enigma suggested that I try sailing. Well, I didn't know anyone with a boat back then. Come to find out, Phillip's dad owns a sailboat. My mother was a little worried. About 15 years ago mom took us to go hang out at a marina where one of her friends had a sailboat docked, I stepped onto the boat, while it was tied up to the dock, and immediately got seasick. When I told Phillip about this, his only reaction was, "WHAT?!?" I told him I should be OK, when I go to the Turtle Club I'm fine after a couple of beers. But, I did make him assure me that if I did get sick, he would hold my hair back. (I know, SO ROMANTIC!) Anyway, we get on the boat around 1p and don't get back until about 7:30p. I didn't get sick, I didn't even get queasy. Yay me! If you've looked at the pictures of Phillip and I, then you know that I am the color of an aspirin tablet and Phillip is a ginger. We are probably the pastiest couple on earth. You can probably see where this is going...We forgot to put sunblock on. Luckily, we didn't too burnt. I will say this, my chest and knees were on fire the next day. Note to self, invest in some SPF 50 and keep it in my purse. Here are some pictures of our sailing expedition.

Phillip and me on the boat

A really cute picture of Phillip

Welcome to Galveston Bay (We passed right by this boat.)

Luckily this was taken in the shade, the glare from my paper-white legs would have totally screwed up the picture.

This is Phillip's brother Paul. He was the smart one and covered his whole body...he didn't seem to care that he looked like the Unibomber.

Phillip's dad...Phil

The trip back from the head...Oh yeah!

So there you go, sailing was awesome and I can't wait to go again.

Until next time...

It's Shake & Bake and I helped!

Let me start this post with saying...I don't cook. Cooking has never appealed to me. I'm not a good cook and I'm especially bad at cooking meat. I'm always scared that I haven't cooked it long enough and that I"m going to end up killing everyone by means of botulism. So, I usually end up overcooking any kind of meat. When I moved into my apartment, my mom bought me some awesome stainless steel cookware. All it's really been used for is boiling noodles, heating spaghetti sauce and scrambling eggs. Not hard stuff. Earlier in the week I decided, like all good cows should, that I was going to cook a GOOD meal for Phillip. I knew Terra was coming over on Thursday to hang out so I decided that Thursday was the day I was going to cook. But, then I thought, "What the hell am I going to make?" I didn't want to make anything that comes from a box, so I decided to go to the handy-dandy internet for help. I came across this website. If you are a beginner, like me, it's AWESOME!!! I searched the website, read the reviews, made notes and decided on three things. So, last night I made Burgundy Pork Tenderloin, Pan Fried Asparagus and Sweet Potato Scallops with Caramelized Onion. And guess what...it was actually good! I have made my first meal! I feel so domestic. I feel so domestic that I think I'm going to change my name legally to Suzie Homemaker. But seriously, I was so impressed with myself. I was a little worried at first, you have to cook the tenderloin in red wine, so when I pulled it out of the oven the pork was rather purple. I was like great, they are going to freak out because it looks like I'm feeding them a big 'ol serving of Barney genitalia. But, it was sooo good that we got over the fact that we were eating purple meat. I find it odd that no one mentioned the color in the reviews...oh well. I'm so excited, I can hear Phillip snoring upstairs and I'm here typing away on my keyboard. Do you know what this means??? I cooked and there were no fatalities! Well, I don't think there were, I'll call Terra when I'm on my way to work.

Until next time...
