Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I thought I might list all of the things I am thankful for this year.

1. My immediate family

In the past year I have come to realize how important my family is to me. My sister and I have become closer. Thing 3 has finally learned how to say my name and I love you. I got to bond with Thing 2 while taking him to and from karate, I never knew how much a 7 year old could talk until a couple of months ago, but it was great listening to all of his stories. Thing 1 and I have I are not as close as I would like us to be, but I plan on working on that. And then, of course, there's The Mother...I've said it once and I'll say it again, SHE'S AWESOME!!!

2. Paw Paw
I am truly thankful that Paw Paw is still going strong! He's recovering quite well from his surgery, he has already graduated from the walker and is now getting around with a cane...GO PAW PAW!

3. My friends
This year Doodlebug and I got back in touch and are now closer than we ever were before. The same goes for Slut Puppy and I. I met Vegan and he has become one of my closest friends. I now call Rice Spice a friend, even though our schedules are so crazy we never get a chance to hang out. I love my friends, they keep me sane.

4. My job and bosses
Thank God Big Daddy and Mrs. Big Daddy decided to open this company. This company has grown so much over the past 7 months that it is almost unbelievable....and I'm so grateful that they gave me the opportunity to be a part of this amazing journey. Hopefully we will get bigger and better in the next 7 months!

So there you have it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Sister, Thing, 2, Thing 3, Vegan, my uncle and his wife will be at my apartment for Thanksgiving. I'm not sure where everyone will sit, but it will be nice to be surrounded by people I love and that love me in return.

Oh, and I can't wait for Black Friday! The Mother and I will be getting up around 3:30am to down some coffee and hit the stores...It's a family tradition!

Until next time...

What the hell do they do up there???

I live in an apartment, and I have this fear that the people that live above me are going to come crashing through the ceiling and land on me. Seriously, I don't know if they are training for a marathon up there, if they are olympic weightlifters, or if they are hiding a miniature horse. At night I lay in bed and look at the ceiling, and I always say the same thing, "What are they doing up there?" They have to realize they are loud, right? I really don't want to be one of those annoying people that bangs on the ceiling to let them know they are being too loud and I really don't want to call the office so I guess I will live with the constant pounding, running, dropping what sounds like anvels on the floor. I think they might have kids, and I'm sorry, but if you have small children I think you should request a bottom apartment. It's just common courtesy. If I had small children or a large dog (I'm not comparing children to a dog, just both make lots of noise.) I would request that I be in a bottom apartment. I really hope their floors are strong, my ceiling is solid and/or a combination of the two.

Until next time...

My Weekend ROCKED!!!

So You Think You Can Dance was AMAZING!!! All of the dances were wonderful. I posted my favorite dance last week, but I'm going to let you see two of my other favorites...

Lacey & Danny

This has to be one of the sexiest dances I have ever seen!

Danny & Neil

OH MY GOD!!! Not only are these two guys amazing dancers, they are HOT!!! And, in the program they each had to answer a question...What do you miss most about home? And do you know what they said? My GIRLFRIEND! THEY ARE NOT GAY PEOPLE! Not very often do you come across a hot male dancer that's straight. Of course, their girlfriends could be beards, but I want to believe them.

Anyway, after the show we went to Galveston and I promptly went to bed. I was tired. The next morning, The Mother and I got up got ready and did some shopping on the strand. Then we met up with her friend and went to Moody Gardens and went to the 4D IMAX show, which was incredible. If you've never experienced the 4D thing, you seriously need to put it on your to do list. Then we went to the 3D IMAX and watched a film called Sea Monsters. It was very cool! Saturday night, we went to a little bar at a Marina, but there weren't many people there. I think I drank like two beers then we headed back to the house and called it a night. Saturday we got up and came home. Did some shopping for Thanksgiving and that was about it. All in all, it was a very relaxing weekend. Hope y'all enjoyed yours.

Until next time...

So You Think You Can Dance!!!

Tonight I am going to the So You Think You Can Dance tour. For those of you, not familiar with this show, it is an American Idol type television show but instead of singing they are dancing. I am sitting 4 rows from the stage!!! I will be able to see the sweat flying off their faces. It is going to be AWESOME!!! Hopefully this dance will be performed...

Then after the show I will be heading to Galveston to stay at a friends beach house and go shopping tomorrow. So, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Until next time...

Pin Ups

I love Pin up girls! When someone asks me what beauty is, I often name my favorite pin ups.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Betty Grable - The number 1 pin up girl of the WWII era
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Marilyn Monroe - The Blonde Bombshell
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Jane Russell - I think the reason I like her so much is because my grandmother looked a lot like her when she was younger.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Audrey Hepburn - More of a movie star than a pin up, but just as beautiful...and she was in one of my favorite movies of all time, Sabrina.

And my favorite pin up of all...Bettie Page!

These women were seen as the most beautiful women of their time, a time when women were supposed to have natural curves. None of them have breasts that look like they were bolted on their chest, none of them have botched nose jobs, there is not a cheek or chin implant to speak of. Sadly, with the exception of Audrey Hepburn, in today's world they would be looked at as fat. I read an article once that had a picture of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe that a cosmetic surgeon had marked up as to what he would do to these women to make them "perfect" Under Marilyn's picture he had lipo (on the hips, waist, arms and chin.) Under Audrey's picture, he would have done a nose job, breast implants and I think lipo on her hips. There were other "modifications" that he said he would make but I don't remember them. So, I will leave you with this...

What do you find beutiful

Marriage

I said last week that I was hoping something exciting would happen this weekend that I could post about. Well, nothing happened.

But...

I was sitting at Denny's with The Mother and I looked at her and said, "I don't know if I ever want to get married."

When I was little, like most little girls, I dreamed about my "Perfect Wedding." I just KNEW that when the day came for me to walk down the aisle, I would have my "pretty pretty princess" wedding. I would get married in December, most likely on the 22nd since that was my grandparents anniversary, it would be in a church covered in poinsettas and my bride's maids would be in red dresses. Doodlebug would be my Matron of Honor along with Hoochie, Slut Puppy and Mother of Three. Paw Paw would walk me down the aisle and The Brother would marry the guy and me. Sounds pretty huh? Well, now that I am older and submerged in reality, I have started to think...maybe marriage is not in store for me. I always thought that people that were married were happy and in love. I always thought that there was someone out there for everyone. I truly believed that when you met the person that you were supposed to be with, you just knew it. (I was a total hopeless romantic...can you tell?) Now that I've gotten older, I have become jaded, I've actually got the nickname "The Ice Queen." I have watched friends get married and get divorced. My married friends tell me about their relationships and most of the time what they tell me is not good. One friend says that she and her husband are more like roommates than husband and wife, another one's husband is always giving utlimatums, another one can't stand her husband and to top it all off my sister, who I thought had the most wonderful husband of them all, is getting divorced. I have a total distrust of men. When a man tells me anything good; you look nice, wow you're hot, you're beautiful, I say thank you but in my head I'm thinking, "Wow, you're full of shit!" When I date someone, I can't help but think, "When's this one going to leave?" Or better yet, when things start getting hard, I turn and run. I think I'm my own worst enemy.

Here's a question that I'm going to throw out into the blogosphere...

Why is it that when our grandparents were in their early twenties, they would meet someone, date the person for like 4 months, get married and they would end up celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. But now, we are in our late 20's early 30's, we date someone for a couple of years, live with them, then get married and the divorce rate is over half. Could someone please explain this to me.

Until next time...

I found this...

and thought of Mr. Sublime Enigma. He is participating in Whiskerino so when I read this he totally popped in my mind. I hope the advice helps while you are growing your facial foliage.

I'm hoping to have a really eventful weekend so I will have something interesting to post about next week. Life has been a little dull lately.

Hope everyone has an OUTSTANDING weekend.

Oh, and one last thing - Thanks to Hoochie for walking me through the linking process, sometimes I think I'm a little on the slow side. Oh well!

Until next time...

Not much going on...

in my life lately. I went out with Big Daddy and Mrs. Big Daddy Friday night and a guy I have gone out with a couple of times met us up at the bar. I'm just going to call him New Dude for the time being. I'm not ready to actually give him a name yet, so there you go. Saturday, I went and had my "hair did." I was sooo needing my hair dyed, it was pitiful! I had a lot of "blonde" going in my hair and I had to get rid of it! I went to a new person, it's actually a girl that I went to school with but never knew. I met her through Doodlebug and found out that she is a cosmetologist but has decided to be a stay-at-home mommy. I went to her house, we went and got the products, we went back to her house, she dyed and cut my hair and she charged me less than half of what the last girl who did my hair charged me...to top it all off, she did a better job, and I've made a new friend too!!! I LOVE MY HAIR!!! My hair is long and I have it cut in layers with very cute, almost Bettie Page bangs, and she dyed it dark brown-almost black and the bottom layer is stop sign red. It looks a lot cuter than it sounds. I didn't do anything Sunday. The life of a Singleton...you can't get much more exciting than this!!!

Hopefully something exciting will happen this weekend and I will have something SUPER GREAT to post about on Monday.

And to Sublime Enigma, thanks again for the site help!

Until next time...
