Last night Escort took me to see Cirque du Soleil - Corteo. OH MY GOD, that had to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I think I've given up on speed skating, since I have found out that Apolo Anton Ohno has a girlfriend (bastard), NOW I want to be a performer in a Cirque du Soleil show. I guess I need to start stretching out again, those people are very bendy.
Anyway, we had a really good time. Escort and I always do.
Until next time...

Buzzfest...
Well, I went to Buzzfest this weekend. IT WAS AWESOME!!! We arrived at the Woodlands Pavillion around 12:30 the first band went on at around 1p. The line-up was amazing!
On the main stage we saw...
Smile Empty Soul
Chevelle
Hinder
Papa Roach
Jet
Three Days Grace
Puddle of Mud
Seether
On the side stage we saw...
Buckcherry
Papa Roach has to be one of my FAVORITE bands at the moment, but then I saw Buckcherry. They SOOO should have been on the main stage. Anyway, for those of you who don't know me...I am the color of aspirin. When I found out about Buzzfest, I decided to start tanning and I actually did get a little color going. Well, as you read earlier in the post we arrived at the Woodlands Pavillion around 12:30p and we did not leave until around 10p. Guess what my stupid ass didn't do before I went in...I FORGOT TO PUT ON SUNBLOCK!!! But, you would think at a function like that, there would be sunblock for sale, guess what, there wasn't any to be found. Apparently, vendors were not allowed to bring liquids into the venue. How stupid is that??? Luckily, once I realized that I was starting to burn a lady at the front gate had some SPF 50 sunscreen and took pity upon me, unfortunately it was too late. The burn had set in, but here is the weird part...I am only burnt on the right side of my body. I guess it's because of where the sun was, I don't know, but I will say I have the strangest tan lines ever. I wore capri pants and a short sleeved shirt, so my right arm is burnt from right under my shoulder all the way to my finger tips, my hair was in two braids so my scalp is burnt right down the center, the top of both shin bones are burnt, my right ear is crisp, and my neck (just on the right side) looks like I should be sittin' bitch in a chevy pickup. It's HORRIBLE!!! Fortunately, I had put moisturizer and foundation on that morning and both of those had an SPF of 15, so all I really got on my face was freckles. Here's a random questions, when you go in the sun and get freckles, why do the freckles stack on top of each other? Why can't they, like, connect? Anyway, as you all know, I went to Buzzfest with Hook-up. I am a firm believer in if something seems to good to be true, it pobably is. Well, this whole time I was thinking how perfect Hook-up is. He's nice, sweet, wants to go and do cool stuff, and we have a lot of fun together. Here's the but...I've noticed he drinks A LOT! And if you know me, you know that I can usually hold my own when drinking. So, if I think he drinks a lot, there might be a problem. I'll tell you when it hit me...the night before we went to Buzzfest, I made the comment that I would probably not drink until about 5:30p or 6p, you know once it started cooling off a little. I did not want to get dehydrated. Once I made that statement, he agreed with me. Well, when we got there we both got bottles of water and went and sat on the hill. Right before the show started, he told me he was going to the restroom, when he came walking back he had a beer in his hand and said that he couldn't handle the temptation. You are probably reading this and thinking I am overreacting, well then I started thinking about all the drinking he does. He is at Happy Hour at least 4 nights a week, he will get there between 3p-4p and stay until about 8p then he will go home, take a shower get dressed and go to the GYM!!! That can't be healthy, I didn't think you were supposed to drink then go and work out. Anyway, he also told me sometimes he'll drink a couple of beers at lunch. Then, on the weekends he'll go and get totally fucked up. Don't get me wrong, I've been known to let loose and drink entirely too much on the weekends, but I don't typically drink during the week. (At least I try not to.) Anyway, I hope I don't sound like a total hypocrite. Well,
Until next time...

My life...
has been pretty boring here lately.
I recently switched jobs. The company I am working for now is a start-up, so I have been pretty busy helping the owner get things set up. This is a new experience for both of us, I have never worked anywhere that is BRAND NEW. I have been in this industry for 6 years, and all of the companies I have worked for have been established for 30+ years, so we are trying to figure everything out as we go. But, all in all, everything is going relatively well. We have our offices set up, we have product on the floor, and we have a few customers. I think in the long-run this will be a very good learning experience for me. So, all of you in blogger land, wish us luck!!!
Since I haven't posted anything lately, I'll get you up to date on what's been going on in my personal life...
I am still seeing Hook-up. He is still one of the nicest guys I've gone out with. We hung out Saturday night. Since I went out the night before and drank til my face went numb, I asked him if we could just have a quiet evening. When he got to my house, we decided to go eat at this German restaurant over by my house. (Nothing cures a hangover like heavy German food.) We were both laughing at the accordian player, you read right, an accordian player. This guy has a 1972 porn star mustache, wears liederhosen (I don't know if I spelled that right.) and sings like a lounge singer and are you ready for this...he has his own cd. That's right y'all, he went into a recording studio and recorded his accordian playing for all the world to hear. The restaurant sells the cd's for like $12.00. I think I will purchase one the next time I go, nothing says COOL like Beer Barrel Polka. Anyway, after dinner we just went back to my house and watched The Wedding Singer. This weekend we are going to Buzzfest. I have never been to one, I have a feeling it will be a lot like Lollapalooza, only better because now I can drink!!! So, I am really looking forward to Saturday, I think it's going to be...
SUPER FUN!!!
Anyway, I need to get back to work.
Until next time...

Hippity Hopping to Louisiana!!!
This evening I will be traveling with Movie Buff, Doodlebug and all the little Doodles to Opelousas, LA. You most likely have never heard of Opelousas, but it does exist. I have been to this location once before, I went with Doodlebug and her oldest Doodle on a Thanksgiving weekend MANY years ago. I had a lot of fun lat time we went and can't wait for this weekend. I will tell you about my last visit with the family o' Doodles and then you will understand why I am so excited and I just can't hide it....
Doodlebug and I arrived in Louisana on the Friday after Thanksgiving. When we arrived, only the women in her family were at the house. All the men and Doodlebug's mom were out hunting. (What self-respecting Louisiana man does not hunt???) Sadly, none of them brought a carcass home, :) , I then got to meet the patriarch of the family...Paw Paw Poonie. Yes, you read that correctly! After all the menfolk got done cleaning the deer urine off of them (for those of you who don't know, usually hunters either bath with soap that smell like dirt or they pour deer urine on themselves.) Doodlebug and I were asked to go to the big refrigerator in the garage and bring in the food. When I opened the door to the fridge, I was astounded!!! I had never seen so much food prepared in my entire life. There was one dish that I was eyeballing that looked really good. It looked like pineapple with whipped cream and a cherry on top. When I expressed interest in this yummy looking item, Doodlebug took mercy on me and told me what it actually was...It was a slice of pineapple with a slice of cheese on top of it with a dollop of MAYONNAISE and a cherry on top!!!!!! Now, I had always heard that the people of the great state of Louisiana would eat anything, but still to this day when I think of the pineapple, cheese, mayonnaise, cherry thing my stomach kind of turns. But, I will say her family introduced me to one of my favorite desserts...Sweet Potato Pie!!!! When we were bringing the food into the house, we noticed a strange wire that ran the perimeter of the back yard. Doodlebug said, "I wonder what that wire is for." I jokingly replied, "Maybe it's electric." Once we got all the food in the house, Paw Paw Poonie started flirting with me! You have to LOVE old men that flirt, they are my favorite. So, after dinner Doodlebug and I leave the oldest Doodle with her mom and go to hang out with her cousins. Have you ever noticed that Louisana people have a very strange way of speaking? They use phrases like, "Who dat?" and "Who dis?" And apparently when you need to put something up, you "save it" or when you go to the grocery store you "make groceries." (i.e. I went to the store to make groceries. When I got home, I had to save the groceries.) The next day, everyone is outside visting and the kids are playing and I remember it being a beautiful day! When Paw Paw Poonie (I LOVE HIS NAME!!!) came outside and sat down, Doodlebug asked him what the wire was. His reply was, "It's an electric wire, it keeps the dogs in the backyard." OH MY GOD, I WAS RIGHT!!! Then the oldest Doodlebug went sprinting toward the wire and Doodle ran after her so she wouldn't get electricuted. Paw Paw Poonie said, "I don know why you runnin after her, she touch it once she won do it again!' There is nothing better than Louisiana logic!!!
So, as you can see Opelousas, Louisiana is very entertaining to go and visit. Just to get to say the name Paw Paw Poonie is well worth the trip. I look forward to spending time with Doodlebug and her family. I think Saturday night we are going to a club...I am so ready to get drunk with Louisiana people. I will post monday any zaniness that ensues...
Until next time...
